Community member meets Gary Snyder
Community member meets Gary Snyder after a reading

The CSU department of English Creative Writing Reading Series (CWRS) brings major literary voices to share their work with students and community members through free and public readings. In addition to giving a reading of their work, visiting writers take part in an audience Q&A, a book signing, and class visits.

We’ve featured Pulitzer Prize winners, best-selling authors, former U.S. poets laureate, National Books Critics Circle Award winners, NAACP Image Award nominees, Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award winners, National Book Award finalists, recognized voices in young adult literature, and more. Through its events, the CWRS strives to bring together communities around literature.

Never been to a reading? Check out some reflections on previous readings on our blog. The CWRS is an inspiring offering, rich with meaning, authors sharing their work directly with readers.

We’d love for you to come to a reading. We’d appreciate whatever you can contribute to help us continue to provide this experience in years to come. Your contributions help support the reading series as it works to bring some of the best and brightest emerging and established writers to join in conversations with CSU students and community members.

You can help us in two distinct ways:

  1. Make a gift! By making a contribution, you’re directly supporting the CWRS fund at Colorado State University, allowing us to host this great series. It’s easy — just click this link.
  2. Spread the word! By sharing the link to this campaign with others who recognize the impact of this series, you can help us reach our goal.
