Kim Daggett headshotThe Department of English extends its warmest gratitude to Kim Daggett as she begins an exciting new chapter at Colorado State University. Earlier this year, Daggett transitioned from her longtime role as an academic success coordinator in the College of Liberal Arts to a new position in the registrar’s office, where she will continue supporting students across the university.

Daggett came to CSU in 2016 after working as an admissions counselor at Fort Lewis College in Durango. During her time in CLA, she advised students majoring in English, economics, history, journalism and media communication, and political science.

When asked what she will miss most about advising, Daggett didn’t hesitate: “English students!” she shared, noting how lucky she felt to work closely with both the students and the department. English, she said, has always been her “academic home,” and advising allowed her to stay rooted in a field she loves. Her admiration for English majors is unmistakable—she described them as thoughtful, passionate, endlessly curious students whose knack for storytelling made every advising appointment engaging and memorable.

In her new role as the transfer success navigator, Daggett looks forward to continuing her work with students. “I’m grateful that I still get to work directly with students and specifically transfer students,” she said. “I’m excited to help students from a variety of backgrounds and areas find their place at CSU.” And while she’ll now support students across all majors, she admits she “can’t wait to work with my first transfer English student in this position!”

Daggett’s impact on the English department extends far beyond advising. She helped redesign the new English major curriculum, envision the annual Possibilities Fair, streamline the department’s internship process, and support countless students on their path to graduation.

We’re so grateful for Daggett’s years of service, generosity, and deep commitment to our students, and wish her all the best as she brings her talent and care to her new role at CSU—thank you, Kim!
