Welcome, Dr. Julia Schleck!
Our new Chair is finally here! We’re so thrilled to welcome Dr. Julia Schleck as Chair of the Department English at Colorado State University!
Coming from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Schleck brings a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to the humanities, and a collaborative spirit that we’re excited to have guiding the English department. A scholar in renaissance literature, she is also a prominent advocate for academic freedom and faculty governance, and has published widely—including three books:
During her busy first week on campus, Schleck met with College of Liberal Arts Dean Kjerstin Thorson, settled into her new office (re: unpacked boxes and boxes of books), checked in with colleagues and staff, and began exploring our department’s spaces and specialties.
We can’t wait to deepen our work and learn from Dr. Schleck as she leads us through her first year at CSU. When you see her around the halls of Eddy, be sure to say hello! To catch up on Schleck’s background and expertise, visit the leadership announcement published earlier this year.
