“with light, as light”: a reading with David Mutschlecner, Robin Walter, and Reed Bye

Hosted by Joe Braun. Presented by Perelandra Bookshop and CSU’s Creative Writing Reading Series.

“Not singing of the world, but singing to it, David Mutschlecner offers us an invitation foolhardy to decline: ‘Stay with the world awhile. Linger.’ He writes with light, as light; all one need do is let the eye adjust, take a patient breath, and see.” – Dan Beachy-Quick

Robin Walter received her MFA in poetry from Colorado State University, where she now teaches. Her manuscript Little Mercy was selected by Kazim Ali as a finalist for Omnidawn’s 1st/2nd book prize. Her manuscript ‘o oio‘ is a finalist for the 2021 Interim Test Site Poetry Series and was a semi-finalist for the series in 2020. Her chapbook of the same title was a finalist for the 2020 Broken River Prize judged by Kaveh Akbar. She was the recipient of a 2021 Academy of American Poets Prize.

“Back up against the Rocky Mountains, on the foothills and plains facing the great eastern sunrise, lives the poet Reed Bye, in his wry and modest existence of merit and wisdom. A singer with a becoming lightness of tone–’every note anticipates the next.’ A wakeful observant mind, checking out the decibels of the classic wake up and fly right think-talk of his odyssey.” – Joanne Kyger

Free and open to the public! Suitable for all ages.
