Creative Writing Reading Series Welcomes Brian Turner

Brian Turner is author of the poetry collections Here, Bullet and Phantom Noise, which was short-listed for the T. S. Eliot Prize; as well as My Life as a Foreign Country: A Memoir. He earned an M.F.A. from the University of Oregon before serving for seven years in the U.S. Army, with deployments in Iraq and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Turner has received a USA Hillcrest Fellowship in Literature, an N.E.A. Literature Fellowship in Poetry, the Amy Lowell Traveling Fellowship, a U.S.-Japan Friendship Commission Fellowship, the Poets’ Prize, and a Fellowship from the Lannan Foundation.
He directs the M.F.A. program at Sierra Nevada College.

The Creative Writing Reading Series, held by the Department of English at Colorado State University, welcomes major writers to read their work, hold question and answer sessions, and participate in student and university community engagement.
