At this year’s Graduate Student Showcase, English graduate students shared innovative research and creative artistry while competing for $24,300 in scholarships. Congrats to all!

The Institute for Shipboard Education and the Office of the Provost at Colorado State University have named Professor of English Fabiola Ehlers-Zavala as the new senior academic officer for Semester at Sea. She began serving in the role Aug. 1.

Dedicated to amplifying the newest scholarship and service in the field of applied linguistics, AAAL provides scholars from around the world a space to share research and relate across disciplines annually. Led by professors Luciana Marques, Tatiana Nekrasova-Beker, and Anthony Becker, CSU’s TEFL/TESL program supported the participation of several current students and alumni at this year’s conference held in Denver.
Roze Hentschell, professor of English and chief academic officer for CSU System, recently gave a keynote talk on “Centering Humanities Leadership in Higher Education” at the Utah Presidential Leadership Fellows convening.
The Creative Writing Program recently announced the undergraduate winners of the Creative & Performing Arts Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year in creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.
