Award-winning poet/essayist Camille Dungy and acoustic solo performances by Nearby Liars and singer/songwriter Eric Skjerseth headline at this season’s first OpenSpace Music & Literary Series at The Music District. In 2017, Dungy published a book of poems, Tropical Cascade and a book of essays Guidebook to Relative Strangers: Journeys into Race,Motherhood and History. Her awards include two National Endowment for the Arts Grants for poetry and non-fiction and two NAACP Image Award nominations among others. Nearby Liars, a Fort Collins indie rock band recently released its Everything is Replaced EP and will give an acoustic performance and singer-songwriter Eric Skjerseth, local bassist for The Seers rounds out the evening.

OpenSpace continues its mission to showcase Northern Colorado’s songwriting talen as well as poetry and prose. This is OpenSpace first event partnering with the Music District.
