What brought you to CSU? I grew up in Fort Collins, and all of my family is still here. I always knew I wanted to come home and teach.

What is your favorite class to teach? I love teaching CO301B Writing in the Sciences, because the students teach me about many of the new innovations and technologies that are changing the world.

Why are the humanities important? The humanities are important to me because they inspire my creativity and continually deepen my ability to empathize with others.

Who is your favorite author? That’s a tough question; I have many! Recently, I have enjoyed reading Karen Maezen Miller, Carol Lee Flinders, and Olivia Gatwood.

What is your favorite word? Right now, my favorite word is probably “sense.” It can mean so many different things in relation to being human, and it is also something we make.

Are you reading anything right now? Yes, I am reading Pachinko by Min Jin Lee for Women Reading @ CSU.
