- Harrison Candelaria Fletcher had a couple of image-text lyric essays accepted for publication: “A Place She Goes” at Muse/A Journal and “Water for Roots” for the inaugural issue of Robin Hemley’s new journal, Speculative Nonfiction, where Candelaria Fletcher will serve as a contributing editor. Speculative Nonfiction should be up and running just in time for the NonfictioNow Conference in Phoenix on November 1st.
- Matthew Cooperman‘s manuscript A Little History of the Panorama was a runner-up for the Laurel Review’s Midwest Chapbook Prize; his poem sequence “Blackstar Pieces” was a finalist for the Boston Review Poetry Prize. Close, but no cigar. He does, however, have poems forthcoming in I-70 Review and Bennington Review.
- Ricki Ginsberg signed a book contract with Routledge for her co-edited book, Engaging with Multicultural YA Literature in the Secondary Classroom: Critical Approaches for Critical Educators.
- Debby Thompson‘s essay “Rescue Dogs” was listed as a “notable” in Best American Essays 2018 and nominated for a Pushcart prize by Jabberwock Review.
- Steven Schwartz’s flash essay, “My Bodhisattva,” is up at Brevity Magazine, https://brevitymag.com/current-issue/my-bodhisattva
- Colin Raunig’s story “The Path of Totality” was announced as a runner up for The Iowa Review‘s 2018 The Jeff Sharlet Memorial Award for Veterans. The story will be published in the Spring 2019 issue of The Iowa Review.
- Yash Seyedbagheri’s flash fiction piece, “Carpe Diem” will be published in the October issue of Right Hand Pointing.
